WORK EXPERIENCE

The North Face, Senior Design Manager: Equipment - Jan 2022–Present
-Leading the equipment design team of 7 which is responsible to 200 million in annual revenue within the daypack, technical pack, luggage, tent, and sleeping bag categories.
-Overseeing presentations for VPs and the President of The North Face, clearly connecting design output to business needs and brand strategies.
-Managing the team budget, calendar, deliverables, design output, and team member growth.

The North Face, Design Manager: Equipment - Oct 2018–Jan 2022
-Lead designer for daypacks and luggage; includes supervising one full-time designer and one full-time contractor
-Redesigning and expanding the Borealis franchise for the 2021 season.
-Designing and expanding our durable luggage offering with the Base Camp Voyager Duffels.

The North Face, Senior Designer: Lifestyle Equipment - Oct 2016–Oct 2018
-Art directed prints for equipment, including the Homestead collection, and was the lead designer on brand color deployment within Equipment
-Utilized user research and trend analyses to create five unique collections for specific users within the Lifestyle category

-Lead designer for tents and sleeping bags
-Awarded two patents for sleeping bag design and construction
-Featured and awarded numerous times in Outside, Backpacker, and Gear Institute

-Instructed Design Communication II class teaching orthographic drawing, rendering, and presentation skills using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to second and third-year students

Specialized Bicycle Components, Consultant: Accessories - Nov 2011–Apr 2012
-Designed water bottle cages, Sram Red compatible components, and a concept bike that led to the AWOL program

-Hired by Avery Dennison to prototype human-centered products through quick mock-ups and user testing

-Worked on a small team with Newell Rubbermaid, Jardin Consumer Solutions, and Chick-fil-a brands to find white space and enhance brand loyalty through user research and design strategy
